Again, words that are not my own

I've been reading this book called If You Want to Write (because as you may know, I really, really love to write, and one day would love it if some of my words were made into a book and then published...). The whole thing is quotable, but I had to share one part in particular because it made me so happy (and I like to make you guys happy.)

"Everybody is original, if he tells the truth, if he speaks from himself. But it must be from his true self and not from the self he thinks he should be...no individual is exactly like any other individual...no two identical persons have ever existed. Consequently, if you speak or write from yourself you cannot help being original. So remember these two things: you are talented and you are original. Be sure of that."

This post definitely makes me happy! It makes me realize that I don't have to be ashamed of being my own true self. My grammar mistakes and misspellings are part of my creativity! Wasn't it Thomas Jefferson who said that, "It is a small-minded person indeed who thinks that there is only one way to spell a word."

That sounds like a very good book if it says something wonderful like that.
Just makes me feel good!
And original.
And talented.
And...I don't feel like writing a book yet (and when I do, it will be children's books), but when you write your book, it will be awesome if you take that advice.
Does that sound dumb? These dumb brain fartsies of mine have been going for a week. Sheesh. I'd like my brain back so I can write sensible comments on my sister's blog...

I needed to read this, emailing you something I just journaled for the kids (and journaled is apparently not a word, I'm getting the spell check squiggle on that.)

So thank you for posting that, emailing now...

This is great to hear. Sometimes it really is tempting to do something because of what you THINK it will make you look like, not just because you want to do it.

That is one of the greatest things I have ever read.

Amazing.
