HELP!

Does anyone have a yummy EASY recipe for Black Forest cake that does NOT involve kirsch (Because isn't that alcoholic? And if it isn't, where on earth do I find it?)??? Phill's bday barbecue is on Saturday and this is his favorite cake. I'd love to make it for him. By the way. If you're reading this and you know and love Phill, we've probably already called you and invited you. If not, 5:30 Saturday at our house.

I have never even heard of that kind of cake-sorry I can't be of more help-
however I know that if you are using alcohol in baking it should cook out so you really wouldn't be consuming any alcohol (I know you still don't want to take the risk, I know I steer clear of recipes that call for it, I also wouldn't want to go and buy it)
maybe you could google it and see what comes up.

hey rae, kirsch is just german for cherry - so it's the cherry pie filling you put on top. if you need a great recipe call abby - this is what i have almost every year for my b-day :).

This is the recipe we've been using. I got it from Eric's mom.

1 pkg Devil's Food Cake mix
8 oz. Cream Cheese
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup cool whip
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

Bake cake according to package directions. Cool. Beat cream cheese until soft. Gradually add powdered sugar beating until smooth. Fold in Cool Whip. Spread on top of cooled cake and cover with pie filling. Refrigerate several hours before serving. (I usually make it the night before.)
